Anna H. Walters, age 88 of Monroe, Wisconsin, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born November 29, 1919 at Monticello, Wisconsin, the daughter of Otto and Frieda (Ritter) Hohl and attended Clarno area schools. Anna worked as a nurses aid at St. Clare Hospital for 35 years.

Anna and Harold Walters were married on December 6, 1936 in Rockford, Illinois and they farmed in the Monroe area. Anna was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe, Quarter Horse & Paint Horse Associations, Boots & Saddle Club of Green County, and enjoyed gardening, lawn work, crocheting, puzzles, cooking & spending time with grandchildren & great-grandchildren, and her dog, "Brandy."

Surviving are her daughter, Patricia "Pat" (Ron Gempeler) Berra of Brodhead; grandchildren, Tamara (Kevin) Kolovitz of Janesville, Melody Perschon (Rory Heinzelman) of Waukesha, Penny (Russell) Wuthrich of Monroe, Michelle (Jeff Kelly) Piette of Juda, and Mark Boelk of Browntown; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Harold "Dutch"; daughter, Phyllis Boelk; sisters, Elsie Detjens and Frieda Ward; and step-great-granddaughter, Rita Piette.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2009 at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME, 1455 Mansion Drive and 18th Avenue in Monroe with the Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund has been established in Anna's memory.
