Ann Marie Rufer, age 75, of Monroe died on Friday, December 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 24, 1939 in Moscow, PA, the daughter of Jacob and Marie (Zurcher) Blumer. She was a 1956 graduate of Pocano High School, in Pennsylvania. Ann and Roy Rufer were married on November 8, 1958 in Moscow, PA. Ann and Roy farmed with his brother, Clarence, for a few years before they bought an excavating business in 1965, where she was the bookkeeper for many years.

Ann was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of several card clubs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, family and friends, she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Russell (Kathy) Rufer of Monroe; daughter, Sue (Jeff) Fox of Monroe; Grandchildren: Kali (Craig) Chiusano of LaPlata, MD, Mallary Fox and Garrett Fox of Monroe, Briana Rufer of Monroe; step-grandchildren, Nicholas Miller, Michelle Miller; great-grandchildren, Brody Fox, Bentley Wollin, Emmalee Chiusano; sister, Jane (Ken) Williams of Wyalusing, PA; brother, Jim (Joan) Blumer of Moscow, PA; sister-in-law, Pamela Rufer of Monroe; also many nieces and nephews. She was especially close to nephew Mark Williams.

She is predeceased by her parents; husband Roy of 50 years; brother-in-law, Clarence Rufer and great-nephew baby Jacob.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ, with Rev. Tiff Bates officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Sunday, from 2:00 to 5:00 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.

A memorial fund is being established in Ann's memory.
