Alvin J. Goepfert, age 82, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. He was born in Monroe, on March 19, 1936 the son of
Joseph and Louise (Kubly) Goepfert. Alvin graduated from Monroe High School.
Alvin was united in marriage to R. Jean Daehlin on September 9, 1962 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe.
Alvin had his own repair service, known as Al's Radio and TV Repair.
Alvin was a long-time member of St. John's United Church of Christ serving on the Church Choir and was often chosen as soloist for funeral services. He frequently received compliments for his beautiful tenor voice.
In his younger years, Alvin enjoyed bowling, even rolling a perfect game. He spent many years as a member of the Green County Harmony Chorus. He loved singing in barbershop quartets and in duets with his grandson. He was an avid Badger and Packer fan.
Alvin is survived by his children, Daniel (Dee) Goepfert and Donna (Daniel) Fenn both of Monroe; grandson, Nickolas; step-grandchildren, Matthew and Kristine; one step-great-grandchild, Aiden; brother-in-law, John (Betty) Daehlin and a niece, Michelle Daehlin.
He was preceded in death by her parents; wife, Jean Goepfert on April 26, 2018 and nephew, J. Paul Daehlin.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at St. John's United Church of Christ with Rev. Todd Hackman officiating. Burial will follow service in Greenwood Cemetery.
