BELMONT/SOUTH WAYNE - Alice B. Cline, age 79, of Belmont, formerly of South Wayne, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville. Rev. Monte Robinson will officiate. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home. Private family burial will be at Cadiz Saucerman Cemetery at a later date. The Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, is serving the family. Alice was born on March 24, 1929, the daughter of Tom and Astheria (Eder) Hocking in Glidden, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Robert Cline on January 17, 1948, where they moved to Browntown, Wisconsin, and was a farmer's wife for many years. Alice moved with her husband to South Wayne, Wisconsin in 1959 and lived there until 1991 when she moved to her final destination in Belmont, Wisconsin. Alice was marvelous at crocheting and made afghans for many people around the area. She also loved to play cards and one of her favorite things was talk and jest with very good roommate, Helen Stephenson, at Southwest Health Center Nursing Home. Alice will be remembered by her family and friends for her dignity, her sense of humor and great determination. She touched the lives of many people especially those at Southwest Health Center Nursing Home, Cuba City, where she resided since January 16, 2008. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Argall of Belmont, WI; Donna (Darrell) Smith of Marshall, WI; five grandchildren, William (Diana) Severson, Daniel (Karissa) Severson, Jill (Rich) Surek, Robert (Rachel) Leck, Tom (Gale) Smith; three step-grandchildren, Ed Argall, David (Rachel) Argall, Chad (Mary Jo) Argall; 13 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on May 30, 2001, her parents, one brother, one sister, and step-grandson.
