MADISON - An Albany man was jailed in Dane County on a tentative charge of armed robbery Tuesday morning, June 5, according to Fitchburg police.
Ronald M. Goodman, Sr., 56, was arrested in Fitchburg after officers responded to a report at 8:25 a.m. from a cashier at Town and Country Mart, 2050 County MM, that a man entered the store, displayed a handgun, demanded money and then fled.
A Dane County Sheriff's detective on alert stopped Goodman at County M and Wendt Road because he matched the cashier's description of the suspected robber.
A K-9 unit with the sheriff's department located evidence in Goodman's vehicle linking him to the robbery, according to police.
