Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Oct. 7 to 13, police performed 32 security checks, 29 citizen assists, five assists of other agencies, 12 vehicle registrations and 10 follow-ups to incidents; responded to nine calls for service, nine EMS calls, seven 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made four traffic stops. No mental health or detox transports or fire calls were reported.

On Sunday, Oct. 7:

●  A Brodhead man, 22, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol content at 12:01 a.m. in the 100 block of East 3rd Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 32, was referred to the Green County District Attorney’s Office for charges of improper possession of a prescription and possession of marijuana following the report of a traffic crash at 4:36 a.m. in the 1700 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Monroe man, 23, was cited for criminal damage to property in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue following an investigation into an incident reported Aug. 22.

On Monday, Oct. 8:

●  A code violation of open burning was reported at 7:36 p.m. in the 500 block of West 2nd Avenue. A warning was issued.

On Thursday, Oct. 11:

●  A vehicle violating the 48-hour parking ordinance was reported at 8:24 a.m. in the 600 block of East Exchange Street. A warning was issued.

●  A two-vehicle crash involving a parked vehicle was reported at 8:07 p.m. in the E400 block of 23rd Street. As it occurred on private property, no citations were issued.

On Friday, Oct. 12:

●  Vandalism to a vehicle was reported at 12:24 a.m. in the 1200 block of West 2nd Avenue.

On Saturday, Oct. 13:

●  A dog at large was reported at 5:44 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A Brodhead woman, 35, was warned for the violation.

●  A Brodhead woman, 19, was cited for non-registration of an auto and given a written warning for defective headlamps at 10 p.m. in the 100 block of 1st Center Avenue.        


Monroe Police

MONROE — Austin J. Bates, 20, Juda, was arrested and jailed following a traffic stop in the 700 block of 21st Street at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. He was charged with bail jumping due to a violation of a court-ordered bond condition that prohibits him from driving without a valid license. He was also cited for driving with a revoked license.                                                           


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Monday, Oct. 8:

●  Brett M. Bertucio, 32, New Glarus, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 3:56 p.m. on 13th Avenue and 2nd Street.

●  A medical call was reported at 7:17 p.m. in the 900 block of Glarner Drive.

●  Police removed a tree branch from the roadway at 9:18 p.m. in the 100 block of Kubly Road.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9:

●  A juvenile was cited following a report of disorderly conduct at 9:40 a.m. in the 1600 block of 2nd Street.

●  A suspicious vehicle was reported at 9:52 p.m. in the 10 block of 6th Avenue.

●  The Green County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from New Glarus police with a case near the village at 11:16 p.m.

On Wednesday, Oct. 10:

●  Police assisted Green County Human Services with an investigation at a residence in the village at 11:12 a.m.

●  A medical call was reported at 11:17 a.m. in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue.

●  Police assisted a citizen with fingerprinting for a teacher’s license at 1:30 p.m.

●  Police responded for a welfare check at 9:24 p.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue. Police requested medical assistance, and the person was transported to a hospital.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 9:58 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69. Police located a mixed-breed tan and white female dog and took the dog to the Green County Humane Society.

On Thursday, Oct. 11:

●  A dog running at large in the area of Hillside Circle was reported at 8:18 a.m. The dog was caught by the owner.

●  Police assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office at 2:35 p.m. by collecting some found property from a resident in the county and giving it over to deputies for further investigation.

●  Police responded to a 911 call at 2:43 p.m. in the 1600 block of 2nd Street. Upon arrival, it was found there was no emergency.

●  A pitbull-type dog, white in color with some brown coloring on the face, was reported missing at 2:45 p.m. 

●  Police assisted a citizen who had locked their keys in their vehicle in the 10 block of 6th Avenue at 2:56 p.m.

On Friday, Oct. 12:

●  An incident of disorderly conduct that occurred at New Glarus High School the day before was reported at 12:20 p.m.

●  Police received some property turned in by a New Glarus resident at 1:17 p.m. Police were able to link the items to a report of missing property from the previous weekend’s Oktoberfest event and notified the owner.

●  A suspicious incident that occurred at the New Glarus Village Hall on Sunday, Oct. 7, was reported at 4 p.m.

●  Police responded for a welfare check at 8:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Industrial Drive. The person was transported to a Madison hospital.

On Saturday, Oct. 13:

●  A medical call was reported at 5:41 p.m. in the 100 block of 6th Avenue.

●  The Green County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from police with a car vs. deer crash at 7:31 p.m. on Wis. 69 at Spring Valley Road.

●  A dog at large was reported at 9:10 p.m. in the 300 block of 9th Avenue. The dog was already back home upon arrival of police.

On Sunday, Oct. 14:

●  A vehicle was cited for being parked facing the wrong way at 12:07 a.m. in the 800 block of 4th Street.

●  Police assisted a citizen with fingerprinting at 10:10 a.m.

●  Amber E. Roach, 33, Blanchardville, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a front license plate at 1:16 p.m. south of 6th Avenue on Wis. 69. She was also cited for having excessively tinted windows.

●  The Dane County Sheriff’s Office requested police assistance with investigating a Dane County case at 1:33 p.m.

●  Police caught a dog running at large in the 1100 block of 3rd Street at 2:29 p.m. and returned it to its owner. The owner was warned for allowing the animal to run at large.

●  Vandalism was reported at 3:50 p.m. in the 600 block of Haslen Drive.

●  Lucas M. Gorski, 33, Oshkosh, was cited for speeding 16-19 mph over the limit at 7:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Tyler R. Knight, 19, Monroe, was cited for possession of less than 25 grams of marijuana and warned for speeding after deputies stopped him for speeding in the W5300 block of Wisconsin 11, Town of Monroe, at 10:19 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

●  Tylor A. Disney, 20, Belleville, was cited for disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a report of disorderly conduct at a residence in the N4500 block of Gutzmer Road, Town of Sylvester, at 6:23 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Oct. 11:

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 3:34 a.m. on County F, Town of Darlington.

●  Jared J. Heim, 19, Shullsburg, was cited for driving without a valid license and possessing marijuana at 6:10 a.m. on County E, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy encountered a disabled vehicle at 9:52 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Deputies responded for a welfare check at 10:57 a.m. on Shawnee Road, Town of New Diggings.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 5:43 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  Shawn P. Galway, 20, DeForest, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 6:31 p.m. on County B, Town of Belmont.

●  Tyde M. Benson, 18, Benton, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 7:53 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 8:10 p.m. on County H in Blanchardville.

●  Jeremy M. Mullen, 38, Gratiot, was cited for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 12:39 a.m. on Tiny Road, Town of Monticello.

●  Deputies responded for a welfare check at 1:30 a.m. on South Broad Street in Argyle.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 12:20 p.m. on English Hollow Road, Town of Fayette.

●  Alberto R. Arroyo, 28, Scales Mound, Illinois, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated at 12:46 a.m. on County O, Town of Shullsburg. He was transported to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, where he was released to a responsible party.

●  An injured deer in the roadway was reported at 3:33 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 6:12 a.m. on East Webster Street in Cuba City.

●  An animal problem was reported at 9:10 a.m. on County Shop Road, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 11:33 a.m. on County F, Town of Fayette.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 3:04 p.m. on Maple Street in Blanchardville.

●  A deputy responded to assist a motorist at 3:18 p.m. on County I, Town of New Diggings.
