Albany Police

ALBANY — Fritz C. Sandlin, 41, Albany, was arrested May 20 on charges of disorderly conduct and battery.

On Friday, May 24:

●  Pleaz Thorton, 35, Beloit, was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay a forfeiture.

●  Skylar B. Albright-Matson, 21, Albany, was cited for failure to fasten seatbelt.

●  Joaquin Colorado Viveros, 40, Monroe, was cited for non-registration of a vehicle and driving without a valid license.

On Saturday, May 25:

●  Justin G. Scott, 28, Monroe, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

On Tuesday, May 28:

●  Matthew P. Thies, 35, Albany, was cited for driving with a revoked license.


Brodhead Police 

BRODHEAD — For the week of May 19-25, police performed 52 security checks, 61 citizen assists, 11 assists of other agencies, 13 vehicle registrations and 13 follow-ups to incidents; responded to 51 calls for service, eight EMS calls and 14 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 16 traffic stops. No fire calls and no mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Sunday, May 19:

●  A stray cat was reported at 4:10 p.m. at a residence in the 700 block of 17th Street. The cat was released to the Green County Humane Society.

On Monday, May 20:

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s Junk Vehicle ordinance was reported at 4:39 p.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A person selling door-to-door was reported at 5:21 p.m. in the 1000 block of 8th Street. The person was warned for not having a seller’s permit.

●  A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 10:24 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 4th Avenue and at 10:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of West 4th Avenue. Warnings were issued.

On Tuesday, May 21:

●  Truancy was reported at 9:09 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle parked too close to a driveway was reported at 3:17 p.m. in the 600 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s Junk Vehicle ordinance was reported at 3:55 p.m. in the 600 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle in violation of the city’s 48-Hour and Junk Vehicle ordinances was reported at 4:07 p.m. in the 1000 block of 5th Street. A warning was issued.

●  Harassment involving unwanted calls and messages was reported at 4:39 p.m. in the 600 block of 9th Street. A warning was issued.

●  A vehicle with a loud stereo was reported at 8:38 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  Vehicles in a business parking lot after-hours were reported at 10:13 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Warnings were issued.

On Wednesday, May 22:

●  A Davis, Illinois woman, 53, was cited for speeding at 10:02 a.m. in the 600 block of 23rd Street.

●  A dog owner was warned for allowing a dog to roam at large after police responded to a complaint of a dog at large at 10:59 a.m. in the 400 block of 6th Street.

●  Police issued a parking citation for a vehicle parked within 10 feet of a fire hydrant at 9:46 p.m. in the 2500 block of East 3rd Avenue.

●  A vehicle parked facing traffic was reported at 10:27 p.m. in the 900 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A juvenile was cited for a curfew violation and possession of tobacco at 10:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

On Thursday, May 23:

●  A lawn that had not been mowed was reported at 8:21 a.m. in the 600 block of West 3rd Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 23, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large and for not licensing a dog at 12:59 p.m. in the 500 block of 4th Street.

●  A juvenile was cited for a tobacco violation at 2 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 52, was cited for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 3:24 p.m. in the N200 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A dead chicken was found in a yard and reported to police at 4:36 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 6th Avenue. The animal was disposed of.

●  A dog owner was warned for allowing a dog to roam at large after police responded to a complaint of a dog at large at 5:02 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

●  A Milwaukee man, 28, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 5:35 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A person sending threatening messages was reported at 7:04 p.m. in the 800 block of East 2nd Avenue. The person was warned.

On Friday, May 24:

●  Juveniles were warned for curfew and then released to responsible parties following a traffic stop at 12:10 a.m. in the 1700 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A juvenile was cited for truancy at 11:34 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

●  A traffic crash was reported at 12:05 p.m. in the 800 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Harassment involving unwanted phone calls was reported at 3:14 p.m. in the E200 block of 23rd Street. A warning was issued.

●  An Albany man, 28, was cited for having open intoxicants in a vehicle as a driver and non-registration of an auto at 4:42 p.m. in the N2700 block of County E. A passenger, a 25-year-old Brodhead man, was also cited for open intoxicants.

●  A Janesville man, 31, was cited for speeding at 6:18 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A Mineral Point man, 44, was cited for speeding at 6:34 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A Brodhead man, 75, was stopped for an ATV violation at 6:48 p.m. in the 900 block of East 9th Avenue. He was cited for not having a rear registration plate or registration stickers.

●  A Stoughton woman, 40, was cited for speeding at 6:53 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A Clinton man, 22, was cited for speeding at 7:21 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  An Amherst woman, 29, was cited for speeding at 8:34 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A Beloit woman, 47, was cited for speeding and non-registration of an auto at 8:45 p.m. in the 300 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Monroe man, 24, was cited for speeding at 8:50 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  An unwanted subject refusing to leave was reported at 9:42 p.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue. As a result, a 34-year-old Brodhead man was arrested on domestic abuse-related charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

On Saturday, May 25:

●  A large tree limb that fell onto the roadway during the storm was reported at 4:52 a.m. in the 500 block of 12th Street.

●  A trampoline in the roadway was reported at 6:52 a.m. in the 200 block of 9th Street.

●  A cat stuck under a ramp was reported at 2:57 p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street. The cat was released without issues.

●  Possible vandalism to a vehicle was reported at 5:42 p.m. in the 600 block of West 3rd Avenue.

●  Subjects throwing rocks at vehicles were reported at 5:58 p.m. in the 800 block of 2nd Street. No subjects were located in the area.

●  A Stoughton man, 17, was cited for speeding at 6:12 p.m. in the 200 block of 1st Street.

●  A Monroe woman, 46, was cited for speeding at 6:49 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Street.

●  A Janesville man, 19, was cited for speeding at 7:08 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A Whitewater man, 72, was cited for speeding at 7:36 p.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street.

●  A Canton, Ohio man, 21, was cited for speeding at 7:52 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A vandalism complaint of writing on the bathroom wall was reported at 9:08 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A barking dog was reported at 9:11 p.m. in the 600 block of West 2nd Avenue. The owner was located and warned.
