Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On June 28: 

●  A civil matter was reported at 7:52 p.m. Police advised caller to contact the property owner. 

On June 29: 

●  An ordinance violation involving grass in excess of 8” was reported at 7:37 a.m. in the 500 block of Greenview Avenue. A corrective action letter was sent to homeowner. 

●  An animal complaint was reported at 4:06 p.m. in the 300 block of East Highland Avenue. 

●  A resident who had two dogs with leashes off in the park was reported at 6:04 p.m. at Montesian Park. Resident was reminded of ordinance. 

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 6:11 p.m. in the 400 block of East Coates Avenue. 

On June 30: 

●  Eric B. Carroll, Brodhead, was cited for grass in excess of 8” at 7:54 a.m. in the 200 block of East Lake Avenue. 

●  Construction with no building permit was reported at 10:32 a.m. in the 400 block of East Coates Avenue. This remains under investigation. 

●  Police responded to check welfare at 11:19 a.m. in the 300 block of South Garfield Street.  

●  Police responded for a citizen assist at 2:46 p.m. in the 500 block of Sunset Avenue. 

●  A fireworks violation was reported at 8:45 p.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. Police checked area.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of June 20 to June 26, police performed 53 security checks, 23 citizen assists, 10 assists of other agencies, 16 follow-ups to incidents, 18 vehicle registration and 13 traffic stops; responded to 45 calls for service and reported eight EMS calls, 17 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and two fire calls. No detox or mental health transports were reported. 

●  A Brodhead man, 36, was arrested on a probation and parole warrant and for unlawful possession of a firearm at 10:21 a.m. June 20 in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue. 

On June 21: 

●  Debris around property was reported at 9:46 a.m. in the 1000 block of 9th Street. A warning was issued. 

●  Lawn not mowed was reported at 10:29 a.m. in the 600 block of West 3rd Avenue. 

●  Vegetation growing on property line blocking traffic view was reported at 11:59 a.m. in the 1800 block of West 3rd Avenue. After investigation no violation was found. 

●  Vegetation growing around property was reported at 12:02 p.m. in the 1000 block of 12th Street. No violation was found. 

●  A dog at large was reported at 11:36 a.m. June 22 in the 1300 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued. 

●  A dog biting another dog was reported at 7:56 p.m. June 23 in the 500 block of 11th Street. This was referred to the Green County Health Department. 

On June 24: 

●  Two vehicles in violation of the city’s 48-hour parking and junk vehicle ordinances were reported at 10:29 a.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue. 

●  Damage to playground equipment was reported at 2:36 p.m. in the 300 block of 4th Street.  

●  A dog at large was reported at 4:36 p.m. in the 1500 block of West 7th Avenue. A warning was issued. 

On June 25: 

●  A subject in the park after hours was reported at 12:50 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. A warning was issued. 

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 9:10 a.m. in the 500 block of 4th Street.  

●  A Brodhead woman, 23, was arrested for disorderly conduct and damage to property at 1:50 p.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. 

●  A Brodhead man, 60, was cited for failure to yield to pedestrian at crosswalk at 2:24 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  An Evansville man, 36, was cited for failure to yield to pedestrian at crosswalk at 3:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  A Brodhead woman, 65, Was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance at 3:39 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue. 

●  A dog running at large was reported at 7:46 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 2nd Avenue. 

●  A dog running at large was reported at 8:06 p.m. in the 1100 block of East 5th Avenue. A warning was issued. 

On June 26: 

●  Horse manure on the roadway was reported at 7:49 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 4th Avenue. Brodhead Street Department was notified. 

● A fireworks violation was reported at 7:56 p.m. in the 1500 block of West 3rd Avenue. A verbal warning was issued. 

●  Police located aerial fireworks being set off at 10:11 p.m. in the 1000 block of 9th Street. A verbal warning was issued. 

For the week of June 27 to July 3, police performed 48 security checks, 19 citizen assists, six assists of other agencies, eight follow-ups to incidents, 20 vehicle registration and six traffic stops; responded to 41 calls for service and reported eight EMS calls, 19 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls and one fire call. No detox and one mental health transport was reported.
