Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Dec. 29-Jan. 4, police performed 37 security checks, 27 citizen assists, eight assists of other agencies, seven follow-ups to incidents and 12 vehicle registrations; responded to 16 calls for service, 18 EMS calls, two fire calls and five 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made seven traffic stops. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Monday, Dec. 30:

●  Possible shoplifting was reported at 1:05 p.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 1:39 p.m. in the 400 block of 3rd Street. The dog was located and returned to its owner.

On Tuesday, Dec. 31:

●  A Brodhead man, 24, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and no vehicle insurance at 9:51 a.m. in the 1300 block of 20th Street.

On Wednesday, Jan. 1:

●  A Janesville man, 18, was cited for speeding, non-registration of an auto and no vehicle insurance at 10:33 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A Brodhead woman, 36, was cited for issuing worthless checks at 2:19 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Thursday, Jan. 2:

●  A Footville woman, 48, was cited for issuing worthless checks at 11:55 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Friday, Jan. 3:

●  A park curfew violation was reported at 12:27 a.m. in the N100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A possible intoxicated person was reported at 4:10 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. Police made contact with a 35-year-old Brodhead man and referred a charge of bail jumping to the District Attorney’s Office.

●  A Monroe man, 34, was cited for driving without a valid license at 9:51 p.m. in the 100 block of East 4th Avenue.

On Saturday, Jan. 4:

●  An Albany man, 28, was arrested on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and cited for no vehicle insurance at 1:48 a.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 6:25 a.m. in the E400 block of 23rd Street. The dog was located and later turned over to the Green County Humane Society.

For the week of Jan. 5-11, police performed 31 security checks, 32 citizen assists, 17 assists of other agencies, 23 follow-ups to incidents and 12 vehicle registrations; responded to 23 calls for service, seven EMS calls, one fire call and four 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made three traffic stops. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Sunday, Jan. 5:

●  A vehicle parked left of center facing traffic was reported at 2:05 a.m. in the 900 block of East 3rd Avenue. A warning was issued.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 4:31 a.m. in the 600 block of 1st Center Avenue. The owner was warned.

●  A Janesville man, 28, was cited for unsafe passing on the right at 10:06 a.m. in the 800 block of 1st Street.

●  A domestic problem was reported at 12:14 p.m. in the 900 block of West Exchange Street. Police investigated and determined it was a civil matter.

On Monday, Jan. 6:

●  A runaway juvenile was reported at 10:49 a.m. in the 800 block of 1st Center Avenue. The juvenile was located and returned home.

●  Harassment was reported at 1:05 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 2:54 p.m. in the 200 block of 14th Street. The owner was warned.

●  A 73-year-old man was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 3:04 p.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street, following a traffic crash.

On Tuesday, Jan. 7:

●  A Brodhead man, 31, was cited for disorderly conduct at 8:26 a.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Thursday, Jan. 9:

●  A Brodhead man, 60, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration at 10:51 a.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street. He was also cited for failure to yield right-of-way.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 6:36 p.m. in the 900 block of 19th Street. Prior to police arrival, the owner was located and claimed the dog.

●  A dog bite was reported at 11:44 p.m. in the 200 block of 13th Street. The matter was referred to the Green County Health Department.

On Friday, Jan. 10:

●  Truancy was reported in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. A warning was issued.

On Saturday, Jan. 11:

●  A traffic hazard of a tree limb in the roadway was reported at 2:26 a.m. in the 1400 block of East 3rd Avenue.

●  A traffic hazard of a power line across the roadway was reported at 6:46 a.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Street. Brodhead Water & Light repaired the line.

●  A hazard of power lines down in a yard was reported at 8:48 a.m. in the 300 block of East 8th Avenue. Brodhead Water & Light repaired the line.

●  A traffic hazard of several small tree limbs in the roadway was reported at 9:27 a.m. in the 1100 block of 4th Street.

●  A vehicle idling in a parking lot was reported at 2:43 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue. The owner was warned.

●  A Brodhead woman, 36, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration at 10:29 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Center Avenue.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Felipa Alonso-Prax, 38, Darlington, was arrested on a second-offense charge of driving without a valid license at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, following a traffic stop on East Louisa Street.

●  Erik D. Gilbertson, 24, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor bail jumping at 4:09 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, following a call at a residence on Main Street.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Jama R. Alexander, 24, Milwaukee, was arrested in the 400 block of 8th Street at 7:47 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, on two warrants issues through Kenosha County for contempt of court. He was released after posting the required cash bail.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Dec. 19:

●  A deputy responded at 8:23 a.m. to West Water Street in Shullsburg to assist with a welfare check.
