New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Wednesday, Dec. 12:

●  Kade G. Kleckler, 38, Orangeville, was cited for an expired vehicle registration at 8:17 p.m. in the 1300 block of Wis. 69.

On Thursday, Dec. 13:

●  Vandalism was reported at 9:53 a.m. in the 1700 block of 2nd Street.

●  Police responded for a welfare check at 3:23 p.m. in the 200 block of 5th Avenue. Everything was found to be OK.

●  A suspicious email in which the sender threatened to detonate a bomb if money was not sent to the sender was reported at 3:55 p.m. in the 400 block of 2nd Street. Police checked the area and found nothing suspicious. It is believed this email is related to emails sent across the United States on this date.

●  Police stopped to check the welfare of the occupants of a vehicle stopped in the roadway at 2nd Street and 3rd Avenue at 4:10 p.m. In talking with the driver, it was learned she was trying to get her child to put on his seatbelt after he had taken it off. The driver parked in a parking stall to address the situation.

●  Minerva Ojeda Martinez, 43, Madison, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 5:55 p.m. on Wis. 69 near 14th Avenue.

On Friday, Dec. 14:

●  Lucinda M. Smith, 57, Monroe, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance at 6 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

●  Jakob J. Koerwitz, 16, Barneveld, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance after police stopped him for an equipment violation at 6:07 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 14th Avenue.

●  Alexa A. Bader, 16, Monroe, was cited for an expired vehicle registration after police stopped her for no headlamps at 7:17 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69.

On Saturday, Dec. 15:

●  Police removed a dead rabbit from the roadway at 9:14 a.m. in the 1300 block of Wis. 69.

●  Police removed beer bottles from the roadway at 9:37 a.m. in the 1600 block of Wis. 69.

●  A golden retriever-type dog running at large was reported at 1:01 p.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue. Police checked the area and did not locate the dog.

●  A parking complaint was reported at 1:15 p.m. in the 10 block of 6th Avenue. The vehicle was moved before action could be taken.

●  Barry J. Hyland, 38, Monroe, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance after police stopped him at 6:01 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue in reference to a traffic complaint that occurred in the county. Hyland received a citation from the Green County Sheriff’s Office for his driving behavior in the county.

On Sunday, Dec. 16:

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 2:45 a.m. in the 600 block of 2nd Avenue.

On Sunday, Dec. 16:

●  Amy E. Lee, 36, Edgerton, was cited for an illegal window tint following a traffic stop at 3:31 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue.

●  Police assisted a citizen at 3:51 p.m. in the 500 block of 5th Street with a concern regarding alternate-side parking.

●  Rebekah L. Daniel, 50, Monona, was cited for an illegal window tint following a traffic stop at 4:18 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 14th Avenue.

●  Casey L. Lemke, 40, New Brighton, Minnesota, was cited for speeding at 8:59 p.m. in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Kraig R. Kline, 54, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated after deputies stopped him for operating left of center in the N5500 block of Wis. 69, Town of Washington, at 10:38 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10. He was also cited for operating left of center, operating without proof of vehicle insurance and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration (first offense). Kline was later released to a responsible party pending court.

●  William H. Frain, 33, Brooklyn, was arrested on domestic abuse-related charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property after deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the N8500 block of Smith Road, Town of Brooklyn, at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12. He was jailed pending the posting of bond or an initial court appearance.

●  Jon R. P. Haase, 26, Brodhead, turned himself in at the jail on a Green County arrest warrant at 10:42 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13. He was taken into custody and then released after bond was posted.

●  Alajah T. Thomas, 19, Janesville, was cited for speeding and driving without a valid license (second offense within three years) in the W5200 block of Wis. 11, Town of Monroe, at 1:44 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14.

Ryan P. Hermsen, 36, Brooklyn, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a report of a domestic abuse incident in the W700 block of Horan Road, Town of Brooklyn, at 5:11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17. Hermsen was taken to the jail, where he later posted a cash bond and was released pending court.

●  Eulalio Pineda Perez, 44, Brooklyn, was arrested on charges of physical abuse of a child, suffocation, battery, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and three counts of misdemeanor bail jumping after deputies responded to a 911 call in the W100 block of County C, Town of Brooklyn at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18. Some of the charges carry a domestic abuse enhancer. Pineda Perez was jailed pending court. He signed a $2,000 signature bond and $10 cash bond Dec. 19 in Green County Circuit Court, with conditions that he not drink or go into bars or liquor stores and have no contact with three family members, including a 17-year-old.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Monday, Dec. 10:

●  A deputy responded at 7:08 a.m. to Galena Street in Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a traffic complaint.

●  Dogs running at large were reported at 7:39 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  Debris on the roadway was reported at 12:20 p.m. on County D, Town of Fayette.

●  Travis W. Aide, 22, Platteville, was cited for driving a vehicle without a muffler or insurance at 5:05 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy came across a disabled vehicle at 9:57 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded at 11:38 p.m. to West Mound View Avenue in Belmont to assist the Belmont Police Department with a traffic stop.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11:

●  A deputy responded at 12:12 a.m. to U.S. 151, Town of Belmont, to assist the Belmont Police Department with a traffic stop.

●  A deputy responded at 1:45 a.m. to U.S. 151, Town of Belmont, to assist the Belmont Police Department with a traffic stop.

●  A deputy responded at 2:16 a.m. to East Platteville Avenue in Belmont to assist the Belmont Police Department with a traffic stop.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 10:16 a.m. on Market Street in Belmont.

●  Deputies responded at 3:01 p.m. to East Louisa Street in Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a suspicious activity complaint.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 3:20 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 4:27 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 4:55 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 5:09 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy came across a disabled vehicle at 5:30 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 6:18 p.m. on Galena Street in Darlington. The Darlington Police Department assisted on scene.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:51 a.m. on County D, Town of Fayette.

●  An animal problem was reported at 8:50 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Javarise J. Jackson, 22, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for driving without a valid license at 2:18 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy assisted a citizen at 3:16 p.m. on County H, Town of Benton. The Benton Police Department assisted on scene.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 6:11 p.m. on Wildcat Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 9:19 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Elk Grove.

On Thursday, Dec. 13:

●  Deputies responded to assist a citizen at 2:14 a.m. on County H, Town of Benton.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Dec. 9-15, police performed 20 security checks, 34 citizen assists, 11 assists of other agencies, seven vehicle registrations and seven follow-ups to incidents; responded to 22 calls for service, seven EMS calls, one fire call and 11 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 23 traffic stops. There were no mental health or detox transports.

On Sunday, Dec. 9:

●  A skunk needing to be removed was reported at 8:38 a.m. The complainant was directed to the proper authorities to have the animal removed.

●  A bicycle found in the 1100 block of West 4th Avenue was turned over to police at 5:45 p.m. and logged into the police department’s lost and found.

On Monday, Dec. 10:

●  A code violation involving a semi truck running was reported at 11:45 a.m. in the 700 block of McEwen Street. The driver was warned.

●  A noise complaint was reported at 12:08 p.m. in the 1500 block of 16th Street. Police made contact, and the matter was resolved.

●  A vehicle being driven all over the roadway was reported at 2:38 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue. Police located the vehicle and observed no violations.

●  A Janesville woman, 19, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 3:20 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Strange noises were reported at 9:08 p.m. in the 300 block of 6th Street. Police made contact, and the matter was resolved.

●  Police responded for a welfare check at 9:52 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 3rd Avenue. Police made contact, and the matter was resolved.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11:

●  A South Wayne man, 49, was cited for speeding at 4:28 p.m. in the 2200 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  An Albany man, 59, was cited for speeding at 7:05 p.m. on 1st Center Avenue.

●  Suspicious conditions were reported at 7:54 p.m. in the 700 block of 21st Street. Police made contact, and the investigation continues.

On Wednesday, Dec. 12:

●  Two tobacco violations were reported at about 8:40 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.

On Thursday, Dec. 13:

●  A suspicious vehicle stopped in the roadway was reported at 7:57 a.m. in the 1300 block of 21st Street.

●  A scam phone call was reported at 3:13 p.m. in the 900 block of 10th Street.

●  A Brodhead woman, 68, was cited for speeding at 7:21 p.m. in the N200 block of 1st Center Avenue.
