PECATONICA, Ill. — A Pecatonica, Ill. man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash last Friday morning in eastern Stephenson County.

According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, preliminary information showed that 79-year-old Ronald W. Zissler was traveling northbound on Klinger Road at U.S. Route 20 southwest of Pecatonica, when he failed to yield to oncoming eastbound traffic. Zissler’s minivan was struck on the driver’s side door by a Dodge Ram, which was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision.

Zissler was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ram, 59-year-old Timothy D. Horcher, Rock City, was uninjured. His passenger, 57-year-old Heather L. Horcher, Rock City, was transported to an area hospital with injuries.
