On March 12:
● At 7:45 p.m., Chad a Mathys, 52, Argyle, was southbound in the N6900 block of CTH A, Town of Adams, when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Chad reported wearing his seatbelt and had a possible injury to his knee. There was combination airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The deer was deceased on the north shoulder.
On March 14:
● At 8:04 a.m., Deputies responded to the N7700 block of Valley View Rd., in the Town of New Glarus, for a single vehicle crash with no injuries. The investigation found that Drew G.J. Schuett, 18, of New Glarus, was traveling southbound negotiating a curve when his driver’s door opened. Schuett then veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole, telephone box, and mailbox before coming to a rest. Schuett advised he was uninjured and was wearing his seatbelt. Schuett’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.
● At 1:09 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of Hiawatha Rd. & CTH Y, in the Town of Monroe, for a two-vehicle crash with no injuries. The investigation found that Austin T. Skogen, 28, of Monroe, was traveling southbound on Hiawatha Rd. stopped at the intersection with CTH Y. Skogen then began traveling southbound through the intersection and was struck by an eastbound vehicle on CTH Y driven by Adam J. Johnsen, 45, of Woodford. Skogen and Johnson advised they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts. Skogen’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene. Johnsen’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Skogen was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign and released pending court.
On March 17:
● At approximately 3:26 a.m., Deputies responded to the N7600 block of County Highway D, Town of Exeter, for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway. Investigations resulted in the driver, Stanley Bennett, 37, of Belleville, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence-3rd offense. Bennet was additionally cited for Open intoxicants in Motor Vehicle. Bennett was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
● At approximately 5:39 a.m., Deputies responded to the N9000 block of State Highway 69, Town of New Glarus, for a report of a three vehicle accident. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Sean Johnson, 39, of New Glarus, was northbound on State Highway 69 when he braked for deer in the roadway. Another northbound vehicle operated by Douglas Olson, 62, of Canton (IL) slowed after seeing Johnson’s vehicle slow. A third northbound vehicle operated by Mitchell Soddy, 19, of Orangeville, then collided with Olson’s vehicle. All parties denied injury, all reported seatbelt usage, and no airbag deployment within any of the vehicles. As a result of the crash Soddy’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Olson’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
On March 19:
● At 7:49 a.m., Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash in the N1300 block of CTH K, in the Town of Jefferson. A vehicle operated by Nathan M Parker, 41, of Monroe was southbound on CTH K. A second vehicle operated by Wyatt T Steiner, 17, of Juda was westbound on Town Center Road. Steiner failed to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and entered the intersection, causing Parker to collide with his vehicle. Parker was not injured, was wearing a seatbelt, and there was airbag deployment. Steiner had minor injuries, he was wearing his seatbelt, and there was no airbag deployment. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Steiner was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign and released.
On March 20:
● At approximately 1:29 p.m., Deputies, along with Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Brooklyn First Response, and Brooklyn EMS responded to the N8400 block of Sandy Hook Rd., in the Town of Brooklyn for a report of a vehicle vs. guard rail crash. An investigation revealed that a vehicle, operated by Alice J. Elliott, 16, of Brooklyn was traveling northbound on Sandy Hook Rd and swerved to miss a deer on the roadway, entered the ditch, and collided with a guard rail. Elliott reported a possible injury, was wearing her seatbelt, and the vehicle had airbag deployment. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
On March 21:
● At approximately 12:54 p.m., Deputies responded to the N2400 block of Brodhead-Airport Rd, Town of Spring Grove, for a report of a two vehicle accident. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Ashley J Williams, 41, of Brodhead, was southbound on Brodhead-Airport Rd when a northbound vehicle operated by Timothy B March, 53, of Evansville, attempted to pull into a driveway and collided with her. Williams and March both reported no injuries, both reported wearing their seatbelts, and no airbag deployment in either vehicle. William’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. March’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. March was cited for failure to yield the right of way while making left hand turn.
On March 22:
● At 2:42 p.m., Deputies stopped and cited Julio M Esparza, 49, Darlington, for speeding in the W7400 block of STH 81, Town of Jordan. Esparza was additionally cited for Driving Without a Valid Driver’s License and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. Esparza was warned for obstructing, and was released with a court date.
● At 3:36 p.m., Deputies responded to the N500 block of STH 69, Town of Clarno, for a report of a two vehicle crash. Susan A Campbell, 57, Monroe, was southbound on STH 69 and was preparing to turn left onto CTH P when another southbound vehicle operated by Ana Y Lagos Martinez, 27, Freeport, attempted to pass on the left. As a result Lagos Martinez’s vehicle struck Campbell’s vehicle. Both parties reported wearing seatbelts, reported no injuries, and no airbag deployment. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were driven from the scene.
● At 6:35 p.m., Deputies, GC EMS and Juda FD responded to a rollover crash with injuries, in the W1900 block of STH 11, Town of Spring Grove. Magaly Alvarado Murillo, 23, Lake Mills, was eastbound when she entered the south shoulder. Alvarado Murillo overcorrected, crossed over the westbound lane, and entered the north shoulder. The vehicle rolled several times down the hill and came to rest on its passenger side. Alvarado Murillo and her three passengers reported being properly restrained and sustained non-life threatening injuries. They were all transported to an area hospital via EMS. The vehicle sustained overall disabling damage and was towed from the scene. There was no airbag deployment. Alvarado Murillo was cited for No Motor Vehicle Insurance and Failure to Maintain Control. She was released pending a court date.
