BELLEVILLE — A Belleville man was issued what would be his fifth charge of OWI, after police reportedly found him “slumped over the steering wheel” of his vehicle early on Sunday, June 12.
According to reports from the Green County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and other emergency personnel discovered the man just before 7:30 a.m. along the W4100 bock of County Highway W, in the Town of Exeter. Following an investigation, the driver, Kendrick J Eichelkraut, 31, of Belleville, was arrested for operating while under the influence-5th offense, police said. Such a charge is a felony in Wisconsin.
Other agencies responding to the incident included New Glarus Police Department and Belleville EMS.
In addition, Eichelkraut was cited for operating without a valid driver license, and another license restriction violation. After his arrest, Eichelkraut was taken to Green County Jail and he was scheduled to appear in court last Monday.
