Belleville man faces charges of assaulting teenage girl

BELLEVILLE - A Belleville man was jailed Friday after Green County deputies investigated allegations that he physically assaulted a 17-year-old girl.

Eric C. Wade, 23, faces felony charges of false imprisonment and strangulation and a Class A misdemeanor charge of battery. He was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance at his residence on Willow Lane in Exeter Township at 12:55 a.m. Friday, March 22, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department.

Wade grabbed and pushed down a 17-year-old girl, dragged her across the room by the hair, headbutted her, ripped off her underwear and shoved his fingers down her throat until she threw up blood, according to court records filed Monday, March 25.

In his initial appearance in court on Monday, his signature bond was set at $7,500 and his cash bond at $500, with the conditions that he not drink and have no contact with the alleged victim, the Culver's Restaurant in New Glarus or a residence on Lincoln Street in Belleville.

His preliminary hearing is set for April 17.
