Shred, recycling event set for July 13

MONROE - The Sugar River Banks will host a free shred event and a free electronic recycling event on Friday, July 13.

A professional shred truck from Shred-It will be at the Sugar River Bank in Monroe, 250 N. 18th Ave., between 9 and 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13. That afternoon, from 1 and 3 p.m., the Shred-It truck will be at the Bank of New Glarus, 1101 Wisconsin 69.

Those interested can bring up to three boxes of documents for shredding.

E-Green Recovery will be accepting electronics for recycling from 9 to 11 a.m. July 13 at the Monroe bank or from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bank of New Glarus.

From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 14, E-Green Recovery will be at Sugar River Bank- Belleville, 12 North Shore Drive, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 21, they will be accepting electronics at the Sugar River Bank-Juda, W2903 Main St.

There is a $10 recycling charge for TVs; otherwise recycling is free.

"Dolphin Tale' to be shown Friday

MONROE - "Dolphin Tale" will be shown at the Movie in the Park at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 6 at the bandshell in Twining Park.

This event is sponsored by Crossroads Community Church and Monroe Parks and Recreation. The event is free to the public. Movie-goers can bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

Durand

Fourth of July celebration slated

DURAND - The Fourth of July Festival fireworks display is set for 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 at the school grounds, 200 W. South St. in Durand.

Precautions will be taken due to the area's dryness.
