DARLINGTON - Two men accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old were released on a $5,000 signature bond after their initial appearances in Lafayette County Circuit Court Monday.
Johnny F. Brandt, 46, and Cole Andrew Martioski, 22, both of Belmont, face Class I felony counts of exposing genitals to a child and exposing harmful material to a child. Brandt also faces a Class H felony count of causing a child to have sexual activity and Martioski has a misdemeanor count of having intercourse with a child.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Dec. 15, 2013. If convicted for the maximum penalty, Brandt could face up to 13 years imprisonment or $20,000 in fines or both. Martioski could face up to seven years and nine months imprisonment or $20,000 in fines or both.
Both men have an adjourned initial appearance set for Sept. 29.
