Volunteers needed for Work Day

BROWNTOWN - The Friends of Cadiz Springs State Park in conjunction with the Department of Natural Resources, have scheduled a volunteer work day to make improvements at the park. Due to budget constraints in state government, it is vitally important that the community at large take part in maintaining area state parks and keeping them in shape for future generations to enjoy. A work day is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, with a rain date of May 2. The Friends group will be working on spreading top soil and planting grass seed and mulching the area around the the new accessible fishing pier and also clearing brush from the dike area. Other projects include painting the bathrooms and renovating the volleyball court. People volunteering to help for any part of that day are asked to bring work gloves, rakes and/or shovels. Working together we can make the park something for all to enjoy.
