Trees available for fall planting
Orders will be taken up to Friday, Oct. 4 and planting will begin the week of Oct. 21.

MONROE — Trees can be ordered now for the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department Fall Terrace Tree planting.  There are four varieties of trees still available for homeowners to purchase.   There is a limited number available that have been reserved with the nursery.  Trees are sold on a “first come, first served” basis. 

American Sentry Linden — grows 50’-60’ feet tall and cost is $78 — five still available

Regal Prince Oak – grows to 50’ tall and cost is $74 – five still available

Emerald Lustre Maple — grows to 50’-60’ tall and cost is $75 —five still available

Ivory Silk Japanese Lilac — grows to 15’-25’’ tall and cost is $34 — one still available

Cost for all the trees is one half the regular cost.  The other half is being covered with a 2019 Department of Natural Resources Urban Forestry grant.   The price includes: planting, staking, mulching, fertilizing and watering the tree at planting time.  The homeowner is also given information from the nursery on care after planting.  The trees are guaranteed for one year and will be replaced at no cost.
