Swing Dance weekend planned

MONROE - Monroe Arts Center's Autumn Swing Dance Weekend kicks off Friday, Oct. 31, with a Halloween parade at 4 p.m. followed by an informal performance by the Cangelosi Cards on the Courthouse Square. The Friday evening dance at Turner Hall starts at 8 p.m. with the "Late Night" from 1 to 4 a.m. Saturday's dance event, black tie optional, features performances by both the Cangelosi Cards and the Gordon Webster Trio from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Turner Hall.

Preview the weekend events when The Cangelosi Cards and the Gordon Wesbster Trio present a free concert from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Monroe Arts Center.

Event organizers have also planned lots of fun ways for visitors to explore Monroe and Green County. Options on Saturday include an Artisan Gallery/Studio Crawl, tours and tastes at Minhas Craft Brewery, cheese sampling at Alp and Dell Cheese Store, and tours at the Historic Cheesemaking Center or the Saturday afternoon Polka Party at Baumgartner's. Sunday morning features a brunch at the Ludlow Mansion.

Package prices are available - including tickets to all dance events, "swag bags" and specially designed commemorative posters, and Sunday brunch. Dance only tickets are also available.
