ALBANY - Ron Spielman, of Monroe, will be discussing the history and evolution of the Stereoscope and Stereo Views at the Albany Historical Society meeting held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Albany Historical Society Museum, 119 N. Water St.
Spielman has been a collector for more than 40 years and will share numerous stereo views to be viewed with a variety of stereoscopes. The stereo view was the precursor to the 3-D movies and television programs.

Attendees will be able see 3-D views of Abraham Lincoln and others taken 150 years ago as preserved today in the National Archives. Those who attend can also bring their own stereo views if they still have a family collection at home.
