Registration for chronic conditions workshop now open

MONROE - People who are committed to helping others live a healthy life are invited to be part of a new Green County program, "Living Well with Chronic Conditions," as a trained leader.

Those who are interested in becoming a Living Well leader must attend a four-day training session taught by Master Trainers and must co-facilitate at least one six-week workshop each year. Leader training session are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. February 16, 17, 23, and 24, with time for breaks and lunch. At these training sessions, those who participate will learn skills to effectively lead the workshop. Leaders must attend all four days of the training. The training and the manual are free; however, pre-registration and application is required.

Living Well Leaders are committed to helping others with chronic health conditions learn to get the most out of life by empowering them to take small, reasonable lifestyle changing steps. Leaders also often benefit through:

- Meeting new people in their community

- Learning new skills about healthy living

- Gaining experience with evidence based programs in Wisconsin

- Learning leadership and facilitation skills

- Having fun while leading interactive activities
