MONROE - Prom for Pennies, which provides area high school girls the opportunity to purchase a gently used prom or formal dress, is seeking donations of ready-to-wear dresses -long, short, prom or formal. Anyone with a dress to donate should contact Linnea Tabaka at linneatabaka@monroe.k12.wi.us before Jan. 20.
Dresses also may be dropped off at the Monroe High School office. The Prom for Pennies event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Monroe Theatre Guild.
The event is sponsored by the Monroe High School Students of Service Club.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Jacob's SWAG Foundation Inc. Jacob's SWAG was created to raise funds to help provide educational programs in the schools and community youth programs, in the areas of bullying, suicide prevention/awareness, mental health and making good life choices.
