Used dresses are available for a donation

MONROE - Prom for Pennies boutique is open to anyone looking for a prom dress from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday Feb. 5 at the Monroe Theater Guild, 910 16th Ave.

Dresses, available from size 2 to 22, are not priced, but customers are asked to make a free-will donation. All proceeds from the sale of the dresses will be donated to the Green County Food Pantry.

Prom for Pennies held its first boutique in January, and Paul Mitchell School of Monroe provided participants with runway-ready hair and makeup.

Following the style show, a raffle was held with prizes donated by Urban Spa, Studio 906, and Julie's Bridal. A Prom Package, including a pair of prom tickets, post prom tickets and spectator tickets, were donated by the Junior class of Monroe High School.

Volunteers from Monroe High School's Students of Service club spent the last few months collecting prom dresses from community members, service organizations, students and local businesses such as Julie's Bridal.

More information is available by calling Monroe High School and (608) 328-7122.
