DARLINGTON - The City of Darlington Police Department will be hosting its annual Police Brat Feed and Ball Game on Thursday, August 7, at Riverside Park (behind Dick's Supermarket). Officers will be serving up brats, hot dogs, chips and beverage beginning at 5 p.m. and will sell until they are sold out.

At 7 p.m., law enforcement officers from the local, county, and state level will comprise "The Enforcers" soft ball team that will face up against "The Community All Stars" team, which is comprised of various Darlington business representatives and community members, for an entertaining ball game.

This is the 10th year the department has hosted the event, which benefits the Darlington Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. The Darlington D.A.R.E. program is taught in first and third grades at Holy Rosary Catholic School as well as fifth grade at the Darlington Elementary-Middle School. It includes follow up presentations in the seventh and eighth grades as well as a Role Model program in the junior and senior levels. In addition, the program provides scholarships to graduating Darlington High School seniors.
