Through the USPS Pen Pal Project, Mrs. Juanita Butler’s Abraham Lincoln Elementary fourth graders were connected with a fourth grade classroom from Chester, Pennsylvania. Monroe students had just learned about the different regions of the U.S., so it was exciting for the students to learn their pen pals are from the Northeast Region. Monroe students are excited to ask questions about the history found in Pennsylvania, since Abe students are currently learning about the American Revolution. The project gave the students special paper to send the first letter on. They are anxiously awaiting letters back from their new pen pals.
