MONROE - The Monroe Optimist Club will host a fishing clinic for boys and girls ages 5 through 13 on May 9 at Lake Montesian in Monticello.
A bus will be leaving at 9 a.m. from Monroe Public Library. The outing ends at 1 p.m.; the bus will return to Monroe around this time.
The event includes fishing, lunch and prizes that will be raffled off. Those who attend the event must bring their own fishing equipment and bait.
Adult Optimist Club members will supervise the event.
