MONROE — The Colony Brands Foundation is accepting nominations for its Teacher Recognition Program.  The program rewards School District of Monroe educators for their teaching excellence, leadership and innovation both in the district and community.

This is the fifth year of the program. Since 2017, a total of $81,000 has been awarded to 29 different teachers in the Monroe School District.

Community members, parents and past and present students are encouraged to nominate a School District of Monroe educator for the 2021 program. Nomination forms can be found on the school district’s website at monroeschools.com. Nominations are due no later than Dec. 11. Teachers that are nominated will then go through an application process and they may apply directly for the award as well. Applicants for the award are asked to submit information on their most significant contributions to student achievement, the school community and Monroe community.

The Teacher Recognition Program recognizes that schools are a cornerstone of a strong community, and educators are pivotal in helping to inspire future community leaders. Striving to improve, innovate, and create, relentlessly pursuing excellence and generously supporting our communities are among the values at Colony Brands and for its employees, and this program puts those values into action.
