Attendees all day on Saturday and Sunday will also have the opportunity to indulge in food from local New Glarus vendors and beverages at the downtown venue while enjoying the talents of local Swiss singers and alphorn players who will perform in the opening ceremony. Additionally, there will be a host of other entertainment and surprises throughout the weekend, all of which takes place at New Glarus Fest Haus in New Glarus.

Interested contestants can secure their spot in the tournament by registering in advance online at euchrechampionship.com. There is both a singles and doubles tournament. There is a registration fee. The event is hosted by New Glarus Cares Community Foundation and all proceeds will benefit the organization’s efforts to build a new inclusive playground where children of all ages and abilities can come together and play.

“This event is not only a thrilling competition but also a vital fundraiser for New Glarus Cares,” said Todd Klassy, a board member of the foundation. “We’re thrilled to see such widespread interest, with participants traveling from as far away as New Orleans, Toronto, and Las Vegas, but also, Monticello, Stoughton, and Verona. It truly underscores the significance this annual event has achieved in two years, and also the dedication we have to our cause.”

The tournament’s main events will unfold on May 18-19, starting at 1 p.m. each day, but the venue opens at 10 a.m. Alongside the competitive gameplay, there will be numerous activities open to spectators and the public, providing a perfect opportunity to kick off the summer season in New Glarus.
