MONROE - Mt. Olive Lutheran Church is hosting an Advent Concert service at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at the church, 1603 16th Ave. The artist performing will be Chris Driesbach, Huntsville, Ala.
In the last eight years, Driesbach has conducted concerts at more than 650 congregations for the WELS and ELS in 35 states. His songs are all original Christian music and are sung in the format of country, folk, blues and others.
Driesbach was an atheist until age 33, and problems with alcoholism plus his work with prisoners is part of the service. After attending a church meeting and going through a Bible study, he said he was given the gift of faith by the Holy Spirit through God's Word. He became a Lutheran and Christian at the same time.
Light refreshments will be served after the concert.
