MONROE - The Monroe FFA Chapter competed at the State Land Judging Career Development Event during the Farm Technology Days in Green Leaf. More than 35 teams and 150 individuals competed at the contest. During the events, the members evaluate certain criteria of the soil, the soil limitations, the soil land classification, conservation practices and non-agricultural use of four areas. There were seven Monroe FFA members participating in the contest, three members in the junior division and four members in the senior division of the contest. The junior team of Sarah Alexander, Luke Peterson and Lauryn Shippy placed sixth in the junior division. Luke Peterson was the 11th place individual in the junior division. The senior team of Caleb Ahrens, Nick Huber, Tom Jenson and Logan Wells placed 13th in the senior division. Tom Jenson was the 24th placed individual in the senior division.
