MONROE - Mary Zierold Holcomb, Monroe, received the Craft Award at the 2007 State Annual Art Conference held in Madison recently. The event is co-sponsored yearly by the UW Wisconsin Regional Art Program and the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association. This juried exhibit includes artwork chosen from WRAP shows held throughout the year.
Zierold Holcomb received the award for "Let's Get Sirius," rendered fabric. The piece is made from yarn, tulle, threads, beads, fabric snippets, dryer lint and water-soluble stabilizer.
Zierold Holcomb holds a bachelor of arts degree in art education and is working on an AAS degree in graphic design at Highland Community College, Freeport, where she is employed part time at the Business Institute office.
