MONROE -The start of the 2015 season of Midday Masterworks, a quarterly organ mini-recital series presented at the United Methodist Church of Monroe and St. Victor Catholic Church, is postponed until April 22. It was originally scheduled to begin Jan. 28.
This will be the 14th year of the series' existence, which features half-hour themed programs of quality repertoire for organ. Established in 2002 by Monroe organist, Deborah Krauss Smith, the series was initially created to showcase the new 39-rank Berghaus pipe organ of the United Methodist Church of Monroe. In 2008, St. Victor Church's new Matthew Ronald Buholzer Memorial pipe organ, a hybrid combination of a Möller pipe organ and Rodgers digital organ, was added to the program line-up.
The program at the United Methodist Church is from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m., and at St. Victor from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. Both programs are free and open to the public.
