MONROE - The South Central Wisconsin Master Gardeners Association is having a plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 2, in the auditorium of the Government Services Building, Pleasant View Complex, N3150 Wisconsin 81, Monroe. The plant sale will be an opportunity for area residents to purchase hardy zone 4 perennial, herbs and annual plants that have been grown locally by UW-Extension Master Gardeners. Several handcrafted garden use items will also be offered for sale. Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to help you in selecting plants to fit your gardening needs.
Master Gardener Volunteers are trained by the UW-Extension agents and specialists to assist the public with garden and horticulture related questions. Master Gardeners complete 36-hours of intense horticulture training in order to earn their certification. To maintain their Master Gardener certification they must continue their education each year and volunteer a minimum of 24-hours performing horticulture related service. There are currently 36 Master Gardener Volunteers available to answer gardening, turf, shrub, fruits, prairie and other horticulture questions.
