safeTALK suicide prevention workshop May 18
Community Brief

MONROE — Become trained in the world’s fastest growing evidence-based suicide prevention training. Green County Mental Health Matters Coalition and Extension Green County are sponsoring a Livingworks safeTALK workshop on Wednesday, May 18 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St, Monroe.

safeTALK helps to break down suicide stigma in the community through powerful presentations, audiovisuals and skills practice. Participants will learn to save lives in only four hours, recognize signs someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to connect a person with thoughts of suicide to an intervention resource. Participants will also practice engaging with someone who is struggling with thoughts of suicide.

Register by Wednesday, May 11 at bit.ly/3E8IYbN or by calling Extension Green County at 328-9440. This training is free, and a light supper will be provided.
