BELOIT — Sherri Hendrickson, business information and technology instructor at Monroe High School, is the winner of the 2018 Financial Literacy Champion Award presented by First National Bank and Trust.

The Financial Literacy Champion Award was promoted through FNBT’s Facebook page. Hendrickson was nominated by Mark Leach, FNBT’s executive vice president of wealth management, for running a successful and popular high school investment club that teaches students how to understand and invest in the stock market. She was selected as a finalist, and voting was open to the community on the bank’s Facebook page.

As the award winner, Hendrickson received $100 individually and Monroe High School received a $1,000 grant from FNBT to continue financial education efforts at the school. The prizes were awarded at MHS on May 18 by Leach, along with Steve Schneider, senior vice president and commercial banking manager, and Christina Symons, manager of the bank’s Monroe branch.

This is the sixth year that the bank has awarded the Financial Literacy Champion Award.
