MONROE — Green County 4-H held its annual Communications Contest on Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Green County Justice Center. This contest was open to all countywide 4-H members in grades 5K through one year past high school.
Presenting or speaking before a group or audience is an important life skill to develop. The goal of the Green County 4-H Communications Contest is to give 4-H youth an opportunity to develop and polish these skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Youth were eligible to submit one entry in each of two divisions: Speaking Division (prose/poetry or traditional speech) and Demonstration Division.
This year’s participants were Mickaelynn Andrews (Washington Center), Abigail Biank (New Glarus), Benjamin Biank (New Glarus), Esther Biank (New Glarus), Jonathan Biank (New Glarus), Micah Biank (New Glarus), Jack Follett (Cheese Country Clovers), Easton Krupke (Jolly Mixers) and Mac Wand (Clarence Bridge Pioneers).
4-H participants were evaluated and provided constructive feedback on their presentation, each receiving a certificate of participation and a participation ribbon (grades 5K-2) or ribbon placing (grades 3 through one year past high school).
