LAFAYETTE COUNTY — The Darlington American Legion Post 214 members, Mr. Bob Wiegel, several high school students, parents, members of the Darlington Cub Scout Pack 125, Doug O’Brien and his four children Maggie, Jack, Connor and Molly placed American Flags on veteran members’ graves in local cemeteries on Saturday, May 13.
It was an honor to be able to go to Union Grove and Holy Rosary Cemeteries and place American Flags on the graves of the Veterans who have gone before us, they said.
Legion Members also went to the Fayette Cemetery, Lamont Cemetery, Miller Cemetery, West Wiota Cemetery and the Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Seymour.
Darlington American Legion Post 214 acknowledged everyone who came out and took the interest and time to honor local veterans.
The Flags will remain on the veterans graves through July 4.
