MONROE — Local entrepreneur Andy Gundlach is again hoping to raise donations for Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin to help others in need this season. Thirty-five local Anytime Fitness locations, as well as three Basecamp Fitness locations, all under Gundlach’s ownership, will be collecting donations this November. Anyone who donates will receive a free 30-day membership to Anytime Fitness or free 5-class pack to Basecamp Fitness.

This will be the 10th year Anytime Fitness has collected food for Second Harvest, and the third year for Basecamp Fitness. Recognizing the role proper nutrition and fitness play in keeping local communities healthy, Gundlach hopes the free 30-day membership and 5-class pack will incentivize for more donations and result in more people adding exercise to their daily routine.

“We know the importance of a consistent workout routine for increased mental and physical health, building strong immune systems, and decreasing stress,” said Gundlach. “That is why we wanted to thank those in our community for donating to our local food bank by offering these free passes.”

Donations may be made in the form of non-perishable food items as well as monetary donations made virtually. Second Harvest states that virtual food drives allow them to serve more people, more efficiently. Each $10 donation can provide up to 25 meals for those struggling with hunger. When someone makes a monetary donation virtually, their email confirmation can be shown in exchange for the 30-day free membership at Anytime Fitness or 5-class pack at Basecamp Fitness. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the location of choice.

In the past, donations made through Anytime Fitness of Southern Wisconsin to Second Harvest and local food banks collectively reached 3,000 pounds of non-perishable food each year on average.

“Helping others in need is good for your health, and my team is here to help members of our community feel their healthiest and happiest,” Gundlach said. “It’s important to us to give back and make a difference, this month and all year long.”

Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin’s mission is to end hunger in southern Wisconsin.
