Livestock auction breaks record, raises $313,350

WEST ALLIS - Wisconsin State Fair Officials and members of the Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation announced the winning bids for the 46th annual Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction at the 2014 Wisconsin State Fair.

The event raised a total of $313,350, breaking the previous record of $255,400, raised in 2005, and surpassing the 2013 total by $76,600.

Winning bids for the 2014 Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction include area residents:

• Grand Champion Barrow (Crossbred) exhibited by Myles Leahy of Lafayette County; winning bid of $23,500 by Beer Capitol Distributing - new record.

• Grand Champion Lamb (Hampshire) exhibited by Calvin Reilly of Lafayette County; winning bid of $16,000 by Kevin Schuele

• Reserve Grand Champion Steer (Chianina) exhibited by Allyson Whitcomb of Lafayette County; winning bid of $22,500 by Kenosha Beef International / Birchwood Foods

• Champion Crossbred Lamb exhibited by Calvin Reilly of Lafayette County; winning bid of $6,000 by Giant Slide Inc., II Dog Enterprises, SkyFair, G&G Concessions, Caribbean Smoothees / Siggy's and Crutchee's Concessions

• Champion Southdown Lamb exhibited by Katie Burke of Green County; winning bid of $3,000 by Corporate Design Interiors and Truck Country
