JUDA — The members of the Juda Zion and Oakley Union United Methodist Youth Group would like to thank everyone who donated food item for the food drive that was held in November.
A total of 377 pounds of food was collected and donated to the Green County Food Pantry.
Over the course of the entire year, the group collected over 5,000 pounds of cans for recycling, approximately 159,000 cans in all.
Money raised was used to support activities of the group, the Stained Glass Window Repair Fund at Zion, the mission children the group sponsors, the operation of the Oakley Church and money set aside for future mission trips of the group.
For the months of January and February, the funds will be used to support the work of the Fairbanks Alaska Rescue Mission. Jefferson Township residents are reminded that only aluminum cans are recycled, no aluminum pie tins or roasting pans and no cat food cans.
A collection cage is located is located in the Sugar River Bank of Juda parking lot on Walnut Street or can be dropped off at township garage on normal garbage/recycling days.
