MONROE — Habitat for Humanity of Green County invites the public to join them at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 to honor military veterans who have protected America’s freedom, and helped with the duplex that is being built in Monroe.

The event will take place at the gazebo in the Sunset Park  (509 3rd Avenue) just north of the Moose Club  in Monroe.

The family that will be partnering for one side of the duplex will be introduced. Light refreshments and socialization will follow the brief ceremony at which veteran Bill Hustad will serve as master of ceremonies, and veterans Janel Kaiser and Rick Gleason will offer comments. Veterans attending are asked to wear some military attire to help recognize veterans present.
