MONROE - Nancy Faith of Monroe was presented with the 2011 Friend of Extension award at the recent fall harvest event that featured antique farm equipment.

The event, which was hosted at the Bob and Nancy Faith farm, is an annual event presented by the Green County UW-Extension office to a local individual in recognition of his or her outstanding commitment to UW-Extension's educational outreach and research programs.

"Nancy is a tireless promoter of all that is Green County and a great supporter of many UW-Extension Programs," said Mark Mayer, Green County UW-Extension Department Head.

Faith has been involved in a wide variety of UW-Extension programming efforts, including being a member of Green County Home and Community Educators (HCE) since 1967. She has served in many local and county leadership capacities, including on the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Executive Committee and as the Hospitality Chair for the state's largest agriculture show that was hosted by Green County in 2007.

"Nancy Faith is one of the many outstanding people in this community that help make our educational programs a success," Mayer said. "Through her extensive dedication to a variety of youth, agricultural, family and community programs she's certainly made a difference, and has had a very positive impact on the lives of many Green County residents."
