On Friday, Sept. 20, Darlington American Legion Post 214 held its annual George Hirsbrunner-Take a Brat to Work Day. The money raised from this event allows Post 214 to support our Children and Youth Programs through out the year. The brat sale is a free-will donation event and, due to the great support from the community, they were able to raise high school scholarships from $500 to $1,500. They also support the Children in Need Program at the middle school, youth baseball, Oratorical Scholarship, and other programs. They thanked the community for all of their support and to Avon Locker for the tasty brats. Pictured are some of the Legion members from Post 214 who helped to cook and serve the brats.
