DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Land Conservation Department announces the Cost Sharing sign-up for 2008.

The sign-up will be Jan. 14 through Feb. 22. Approval for cost sharing will be based on conservation need and availability of funding. If the property on which the conservation practice will be applied is owned by more than one person, then both parties will need to sign the cost share application forms.

Contour strips will be cost shared at $15 per acre, and pasture renovation may be available at $25 per acre (limit 30 acres). Federal/municipal partnering is available at 10 percent (limit $500) and includes dry hydrants.

For more details and cost share applications, stop by the USDA Service Center, 1900 Ervin Johnson Dr. in Darlington. LCD staff will be available from 7:45 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call (608) 776-3836 for more information.
