Special Easter program
scheduled for children
MONROE - Resurrection Lutheran Church will be holding a special Easter program for children ages 3 through 10 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 24 at the church, 1603 16th Ave.
Children will hear a Bible story and participate in music, crafts and an Easter egg hunt.
Pre-registration is appreciated so the church can plan and prepare, but not necessary. Registration can be completed online at rlcverona.org or by calling 515-4334.
UMC to hold combined Good Friday services next weekend
MONROE - Monroe United Methodist Church will hold a community Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 30 at the church. The service will be led by pastors from Monroe Bible Church, Hope Evangelical Free Church, Crossroads Community Church, Monroe Nazarene Church and Monroe UMC.
Each pastor will examine an "I am" statement from Jesus, including "I am the Bread of Life" and "I am the Resurrection and the Life."

Zion UMC to hold pancake
supper today at the church
CLARNO - Clarno Zion United Methodist Church will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake supper from 4 to 7:30 p.m. March 24 at the church. The meal is free for ages 4 and under. There also will be a bake sale and silent auction.

Easter breakfast to fund June youth trip to Austin, Texas
ARGYLE - The combined churches of Applegrove and Yellowstone Lutheran churches will hold an Applestone Palm Sunday Breakfast from 8 to 10:45 a.m. March 25 in the Yellowstone Lutheran Church basement. There will be no Sunday school that day.
The meal is free but the church is accepting free-will donations. Proceeds will go toward sponsoring the youth to attend the National Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas, in June. On display will be a quilt made and donated to the youth group by Pauline Mau. A silent auction for the quilt is being held through Easter.

Methodist church to hold Holy Week services, breakfast
MCCONNELL - McConnell United Methodist Church will hold Holy Week services on the following dates, times and locations.
Palm Sunday worship will be at 10:30 a.m. March 25 at McConnell UMC and will include the Parade of Palms.
Holy Thursday will be observed at 6:30 p.m. March 29 at Pearl City UMC. The service will include a reflection on the Last Supper while hearing devotions of Jesus' last meal. A Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. March 30 as a joint service at Grace Free Methodist Church. Easter Worship and Breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m. April 1 at McConnell UMC. A community breakfast will follow the service at 9:15 a.m.

Easter 'Sonrise' Breakfast to follow service April 1
JUDA - The members of the Juda Zion and Oakley Union United Methodist Church youth group will be holding their annual Easter "Sonrise" Breakfast April 1, immediately following the Easter "Sonrise" Service which starts at 7 a.m. at the Juda church.
The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, applesauce, cheese, coffee cake, milk, juice and coffee. A free-will offering will be taken to support group activities.
