'Christmas Carol' auditions slated this week

MONROE - This holiday season, director David Bristow and Monroe Theatre Guild will again bring the favorite Christmas tale, "A Christmas Carol," to the Monroe Art Center Stage.

Auditions will be held at the Monroe Theatre Guild building, 910 16th Ave., from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 27, with callbacks from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.

This show has parts for approximately 17 men and 17 women. Some roles will be doubled. A limited number of youth parts are also available, especially for a boy or girl of small stature, age 8 to 11, for the part of Tiny Tim.

Auditioners will be asked to read excerpts from the script and demonstrate movement.

If auditioning for a caroler, you will be asked to sing a well-known Christmas song. Scripts are available for perusal at the Monroe Public Library.

Show dates are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 and Dec. 12 and 13; and 2 p.m. Dec. 7, Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.
