MONROE - A free, public lecture, sponsored by First Church of Christ Scientist, titled "Christian Science Healing: A Demand of the Times," will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe.
Martha R. Moffett, C.S.B., a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, will explain how a spiritually scientific understanding of the healings of Jesus Chris can bring restoration and healing today, officials said.
"I've found in my life that an understanding of man's true spiritual nature as made in the image and likeness of God brings healing, protection and security," Moffett said in a release.
Childcare will be provided at the event.
