Car show set for July 13

BLANCHARDVILLE - Blanchardville Community Pride is sponsoring their 22nd Cruis'n Wisconsin car, motorcycle and truck show, on Sunday, July 13, rain or shine, in McKellar Park, Blanchardville.

All stock to six years old and modified to present vehicles are welcome. Forty classes, more than 130 trophies, three Best of Class trophies in each class, larger classes - four or more trophies awarded, judged show. Non-food, craft and swap vendors welcome.

Door prizes, 50/50 raffle, T-shirts, beer and food available. Dash plaques to first 400 vehicles. Vehicle registration is $6 before July 10 or $12 day of the show. Display only and for sale vehicles, $6. Registration 8 a.m. to noon. General admission is $2, under 12 is free.

This year's features are nostalgia drag cars: from Waterloo, Iowa, Dale Suhr's front engine nitro dragster that runs 239 m.p.h. in 5.78 seconds; from Brooklyn, A.J. Jelle's alcohol dragster that runs 191 m.p.h. in 7.99 seconds; and from Belleville, Jim Winkelman's 1932 altered that flies down the quarter mile at 153 m.p.h. with an elapsed time of 8.52 seconds. Special attractions are Jim Hetz, vehicle custom lettering and pinstriping; Full Boar Enterprises engine dyno; and an art show featuring art work related to anything with wheels.
