Democratic party to meet on Oct. 4
DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Democratic Party will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Annie's Bar and Grill, Washington Street, Darlington.

Pasty supper slated for Oct. 4
MONROE - A pasty supper will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Union Presbyterian Church, 2707 5th St., Monroe.
The pasty menu will include a choice of beef or chicken pasty with cheese, applesauce, cole slaw, dessert, and a beverage. The cost is $7. A hot menu for $3 will also be available and will include a hot dog, cheese, applesauce, chips, dessert, and a beverage.
Carryouts will be available at the side doors by the fence, and frozen pasties will be available for sale on the evening of the supper. The church is handicapped accessible.
Advanced tickets may be purchased from church members or by calling the church office at (608) 325-2519.The meeting is open to the public.

EIE Foundation benefit is Oct. 5
MONROE - The Monroe Excellence in Education Foundation will partner with Papa Murphy's Pizza of Monroe on Wednesday, Oct. 5 to raise money for the foundation.
On Oct. 5, Papa Murphy's will donate $2 for every pizza paid for with cash to the foundation, which provides grants within the Monroe School District for a variety of programs that encourage new approaches in education.
