Free class offered on home weatherization
MONROE - Project Home's Housing Center is offering a free class on how to weatherize the home from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 at the Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe.
The class will be taught by Rob Corbit, a professional energy auditor with Project Home. It is designed to show inexpensive ways to make a home or mobile home more comfortable and less expensive to heat and cool. There will be examples of homes' attics, basements and garages that need insulating, the materials to use and how to use them.

Historical society to meet on Oct. 18
ALBANY - The Albany Historical Society will host Cathy Cryor Burgweger as a guest speaker at its meeting Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the museum, 119 N. Water Street, Albany.
A short business meeting at 7 p.m. will precede the program.
The topic is Franklin Grove, Etc., a business which Cryor Burgweger owns. She with tell the history of the building's many uses over the years and other Attica history will be discussed.
